BALTIMORE -- After Clay Buchholz turned in yet another poor start, it was up to the offense and the bullpen to save the Red Sox.
The hitters rallied for three runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and one more in the eighth, and four Red Sox relievers limited the Baltimore Orioles to a single run over the final 3 23 innings, giving the Sox an 8-6 victory, their third in a row and ninth in the last 11 games.
The game also brought the Sox to the .500 mark (21-21) for the first time since April 30.
Andrew Miller snuffed out a rally with runners on second and third and just one out in relief of Buchholz in the sixth and Vicente Padilla, pitching for the third straight day, wiggled out of a second and third jam with one out in the eighth.
Alfredo Aceves pitched the ninth for his 10th save.
Six different members of the Red Sox starting lineup produced at least one run, with Dustin Pedroia driving in two.
After cranking 11 homers in their last four games, the Sox got just one Monday night, but it was a tape-measure shot from David Ortiz, who homered onto Eutaw St., beyond the right field fence, with a blast estimated at 442 feet.

Buchholz, meanwhile, took a step back after two improved starts. He walked three in the third inning alone, including two with the bases loaded. In nine starts this season, he's allowed at least five earned runs all but twice and his ERA sits at 7.84 for the season.
