Tanaka shuts down Red Sox, lead cut to 4 1/2 after Yankees' 5-1 victory

Masahiro Tanaka held the Red Sox to five hits in seven innings and Matt Holiday hit a three-run homer to lead the Yankees to a 5-1 victory over the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, cutting Boston's A.L. East lead to 4 1/2 games over New York.
