Wallach: Interview with Red Sox ‘went well'

Tim Wallach said he thought his interview with the Red Sox Friday "went well," and he believes he's a legitimate candidate for the team's vacant managerial position.
"I don't think they would have brought me here unless they were serious," the Dodgers' third-base coach told ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes.
Wallach declined to discuss the specifics of the interview, though he said he didn't meet with owner John Henry or team presidentCEO Larry Lucchino. He says it's his impression the first round of interviews -- in which the team is also expected to speak with Padres special assistant Brad Ausmus -- wouldn't last longer than a week.
"But I understand the process that has to be gone through," Wallach said. "I honestly believe they wouldn't waste their time."
