Wednesday's Red Sox-Yankees lineups: Betts bats third for first time

Share

BOSTON -- Xander Bogaerts is back in the lineup tonight after getting a day of rest on Tuesday, but the lineup he's returning to looks a little different.

Instead of the normal top three of Mookie Betts-Dustin Pedroia- Bogaerts, manager John Farrell shuffled things around for the second game of the Red Sox' series against the Yankees. Instead, Pedroia will lead off, Bogaerts moves up to second and Betts drops into the No. 3 hole against New York right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.

It's the first time Betts has ever batted third in the major leagues.
