Brandon Lloyd's reps say no issue with Pats

INDIANAPOLIS -- Ben Dogra and Tom Condon, the lead agents at CAA, indicated on Friday that they would welcome the chance to talk with the Patriots about soon-to-be free agent wideout Brandon Lloyd. Asked about the rancor that arose between the Patriots and Condon during the 2004 rookie contract negotiation for Benjamin Watson, Dogra scoffed at the notion it would be an impediment to business going forward. "I understand why it's a story" said Dogra. "But it's not an issue."
Condon, when asked about if the relationship with New England is workable, said "If I didn't talk to everyone I've had hard negotiations with, I wouldn't talk to anyone."Lloyd has indicated he'd like to keep working with Josh McDaniels. When the current Patriots offensive coordinator was in Denver, Lloyd had a breakout 2010 season. Last season, Lloyd was dealt to the St. Louis Rams and reunited with McDaniels and had a solidyear for an otherwise disappointing team. Dogra indicated that the presence of McDaniels in New England continues to be a huge draw to Lloyd. Free agency opens March 13.
