Jermaine O'Neal underwent successful surgery on his left wrist Friday at New England Baptist Hospital, the team reports.
The surgery was performed by Celtics Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon and Dr. Drew Terrono. O'Neal elected to get the surgery after it was determined that he simply could not play through the pain this season.
The surgery is season-ending for O'Neal but it's still unclear if he will indeed call it a career or try to come back next season as a free agent.
