Al Horford (knee) set to miss sixth straight game Wednesday against Suns

BOSTON -- Celtics coach Brad Stevens maintains that Al Horford continues to make steady progress, but isn’t quite ready to return to the lineup.

Horford has already been ruled out for the Wednesday night game against the Phoenix Suns after not practicing with the team on Tuesday.

Stevens was asked if there’s something Horford needs to show them that will indicate he’s ready to return to action

“It’s about him feeling good for the rest of the season,” said Stevens who added there’s a slight chance Horford might practice with the team later this week if, in fact, they decide to have one. “So, he just needs to feel 100 percent as he goes out and goes through the progression of drills and everything else.”

Stevens added, “we did not test him in anything that he failed by any means. This is part of his progression.”

This will be the sixth consecutive game missed by Horford, and eighth in the team’s past 12 -- all of which are in connection with his patellofemoral pain syndrome injury.

Fellow Celtics big man Guerschon Yabusele was also ruled out as he recovers from a right ankle sprain. Jaylen Brown is questionable with a bruised right hand.
