New Celtics acquisitions Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving and Marcus Morris, as well as Al Horford, won't play tonight in the preseason game vs. the Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden, the team announced.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens had earlier hinted that he would be resting players and getting a long look at his bench tonight.
Rookie Jayson Tatum, who leads the C's in minutes in the preseason, figures to get plenty of playing time, along with Jaylen Brown. The Celtics have one more preseason game, in Charlotte on Wednesday night, before opening the regular season Oct. 17 in Cleveland.
