Celtics assistant coach Jay Larranaga has interviewed for the Charlotte Hornets' head coaching opening, Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports reported on Celtics Pregame Live Thursday night.
Larranaga, a C's assistant since 2012, had already talked to the New York Knicks about their head coaching job last week between Games 4 and 5 of the Celtics-Bucks series.
The Hornets fired coach Steve Clifford earlier this week and the Knicks recently parted ways with coach Jeff Hornacek.
The Celtics lost assistant Walter McCarty when accepted the head coaching job at the University of Evansville, his alma mater, earlier this season.
