Gordon Hayward wants to be serenaded with ‘Daddy's always happy' chants

Boston sports fans don't have a good history with chants containing the word 'daddy.'

(Be thankful that a) the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS with the greatest comeback in baseball history and b) Pedro Martinez moved on after that season. Otherwise, you'd have been hearing "Who's your daddy?" taunts from Yankee fans in your sleep.)

But Gordon Hayward wants to change all that.

While streaming on his Twitch channel this week, he told his fans: "If any of you guys are going to go the games at TD Garden, you gotta get a 'Daddy's always happy' chant going. That would be awesome. You know what I mean?"

Daddy's always happy?

Well . . . we'll see.
