Former Celtics guard Avery Bradley paid a settlement to a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her, according to a TMZ Sports report.

Now a member of the Detroit Pistons, Bradley, through his attorney, denied the assault allegation, and said he only paid the woman - described by TMZ Sports as a “reality star” - “to prevent false information from becoming public.”

Negotiations on the settlement at one point reached $400,000, TMZ Sports reported.

The alleged incident took place in Cleveland on May 23. That night, Bradley and the Celtics lost to the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals.

”Mr. Bradley absolutely denies having engaged in wrongdoing whatsoever," Bradley's attorney Brian Wolf told TMZ Sports. "The confidentiality agreement specifically refutes and denies the validity of all allegations of any wrongful conduct by Mr. Bradley. The sole purpose of the agreement was to protect the reputation and privacy of Mr. Bradley and his family."

Wolf said Bradley is prepared to take legal action against those involved in leaking the settlement disclosure.

Bradley, 27, a married father of three, was traded to Detroit in July after playing his first seven seasons in the NBA for the Celtics.
