Report: Celtics willing to trade Smart for first-round pick

With Terry Rozier coming into his one in the absence of Kyrie Irving and perhaps surpassing the injured Marcus Smart in the Celtics guard rotation, could Danny Ainge be looking to trade Smart?

That's what ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports in his latest Woj Podcast.

At the 26:22 mark, Wojnarowski says Smart is "a player that’s available for a first-round pick,” Wojnarowski. “If a team was willing to give Boston a first-round pick, Boston would look at [trading him], if they didn’t have to take back a lot of money going out in the future. He’s restricted this summer, you don’t know what it will cost to keep him.”

Smart is out for at least another week as he recovers from hand lacerations sustained when he said he hit a picture frame in his hotel after a game in Los Angeles last week.

Ainge, the C's president of basketball operations who acquired center Greg Monroe on Friday, also has the Clippers' Lou Williams and the Grizzlies' Tyreke Evans on his radar, according to the Boston Herald's Steve Bullpet.
