The Boston College basketball season is over after a 79-62 loss to Western Kentucky in the first round of the NIT.

The Eagles met the Conference USA Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in what many saw as an evenly matched game.

BC was fresh off a pair of ACC Tournament victories that gave them momentum, but they failed to carry it over into this tournament.

WKU shot 55.4% from the field, which really made things tough for the Eagles. BC only managed 38.5%.

The Hilltoppers also came up with crucial second chance rebounds in the fourth quarter, converting them for 10 second chance points.

WKU Senior Justin Johnson led scoring for both teams with a total of 19 points.

The BC season concludes with a record of 19-16 on the year.

19-16 is good for the best record they've had since 2010-11.
