The University of Connecticut on Tuesday honored Kemba Walker, leader of the school's NCAA champion Men's Basketball team.

Walker's name and number were unveiled on Gampel Pavilion's Huskies of Honor wall, a surprise during the school's celebratory rally. The wall holds the names and numbers of the greatest players in team history.

The consensus first-team All-American wiped tears from his eyes after the drape was removed less than 24 hours after beating Butler 53-41 in the national title game.

"I never thought I'd see this day, you know, my name up there," said Walker. "I'm in great company."

It is an exclusive group, including Emeka Okafor, Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton and Donyell Marshall, among others.

Averaging 23.5 points per game in his junior season, Walker delivered big shot after big shot at the end of games. His Huskies won the Maui Invitational (early-season), Big East and NCAA Tournaments, despite being unranked in the AP and Coaches' Polls until the third week of rankings.
