Five from the third

RALEIGH, N.C.Here are five thoughts from the third period with the Bruins falling to the Hurricanes by a 4-2 score at the end of the first 60 minutes at the RBC Center.

1) Bruins just not bringing their A game tonight in Carolina. Its as simple as that.

2) Sixteen goals for Milan Lucic at the midpoint of the season. For a guy that people wrote off last years 30-goal season because of five empty-netters it appears hes proving himself as a legit 30-goal scorer in the league.

3) What did I tell you about the hits stat? Bruins were never in this game physically against the Hurricanes.

4) Two long point shots allowed by Tim Thomas in the third period is very unlike the Bs goaltender. Had two strong periods, but couldnt follow it up in the final 20 minutes where Boston is usually a good closer.

5) Not often you see the Bruins lose a third period, but they did tonight.
