Garnett: Pietrus health most important

Share

Two days after suffering a head injury, Mickael Pietrus was widely discussed in the Celtics locker room before and after Sundays win over the Washington Wizards.

Pietrus, who was carted off the court in a stretcher during Fridays match up against the Philadelphia 76ers, was not with the team after returning to Boston for further evaluation.

Teammates expressed their continuing support and concern for the injured swingman. Many have reached out and communicated through text messages to make sure Pietrus knows he has an entire roster pulling for him.

Via through text, weve been keeping up with him and making sure that his health is everything, that hes ok, said Kevin Garnett. So its good to know that hes alright. I think because of the concussion, he has to go through proper testing. But whats most important is his health because thats someones father, someones brother, someones son. And thats whats most important when it comes to these types of things.

No timetable has been set for Pietrus return.
