Green, Wilcox may not play for Celtics tonight

WALTHAMThe Boston Celtics may be without more than just their floor leader Rajon Rondo tonight.

Jeff Green (right knee) says it will be a game-time decision on whether he will play against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Celtics are also unsure about the availability of Chris Wilcox, who is battling an illness that took him off the floor early in Boston's 95-83 loss to Brooklyn on Wednesday.

Wilcox, who replaces Kevin Garnett about six minutes into every game, was not on the floor with the C's during their shootaround Friday morning.

Green said his injury doesn't limit his mobility.

"It's just battle the soreness and discomfort," he said. "We'll see tonight."

Like most early-season injuries, balancing when to play through the pain with not making it worst and potentially losing more games, is a fine line.

"It's a long season. You don't want to make it worst," Green said. "We'll see how I feel when I get to the arena and take it from there."

With Green possibly missing tonight's game, the Celtics called up rookie Kris Joseph from the D-League.

Joseph, the C's second-round pick in last June's draft from Syracuse University, led the Maine Red Claws in scoring at 25.5 points per game in addition to grabbing 7.5 rebounds.
