Hernandez: ‘I feel great' despite head injury

FOXBORO -- The Patriots' decision to use tight end Aaron Hernandez as a running back for most of the game paid off Saturday night, as Hernandez finished with a team-high 61 rushing yards in the Pats' 45-10 win over Denver.
But with New England holding a 42-10 lead in the fourth quarter, perhaps handing the ball off to Hernandez on first-and-4 from the Denver 4-yard line wasn't the best idea. He got hit in the head, had to leave the game, and never returned.
Still, he was all smiles in the Patriots' locker room afterwards. When asked how he was feeling physically, he smiled and said, "I feel great."
"I just do what the coaches ask me," said Hernandez. "They put me in position to try and make plays, and I just try to help the team, and just trying to get to the big game."
Hernandez said he was surprised at how much he was used in the backfield, but enjoyed he change.
"I love running back," said Hernandez. "I hope coach Bill Belichick keeps letting me do it. But it doesn't matter. Whatever I can do to help this team and get to that next game."
