Law: Time to change the secondary's schemes

On "Patriots Postgame Live," Ty Law says the Patriots talent in the secondary will take them only so far, it's time to switch the type of defense the personnel is playing.

Law told Michael Felger "it's too late to go out and try and find people," to add to the secondary, which was burned for more than 300 yards by Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez in the Patriots' 29-26 overtime victory on Sunday.

"Coach Belichick, you need to change your schemes," Law said. Specifically the former Pats All-Pro cornerback said New England needs to play more Cover-2 and Cover-5 in the secondary.

"Play your corners man-to-man, but still leave your safeties over the top to protect them," Law said.

Troy Brown, a former Pats receiver who also played some cornerback, said New England found some success playing Cover-5 late in the game Sunday.

"If you're going to get beat, get beat playing agressive," Brown said. "Make them earn it."
