McAdam: Looking for a solid, not spectacular, 2013 for Lackey

Share

OK, be reasonable. What are you expecting from John Lackey this season?

Are you hoping to be a guy who looks like who's worth 82 million dollars? Probably not. In all likelihood, in your hope of hopes, you're just thinking Lackey might be able to stay reasonably healthy and, if you're lucky, he'll stop wondering aloud in the clubhouse why his life sucks.

With expectations that low, we could be in for a pleasant surprise. Red Sox Insider Sean McAdam says that we could at least expect a return to form to the 2010 season Lackey put together -- 14 wins and about a 4.40 ERA.

Not great. Not close to worth 82 million. But you'll take it, won't you?

See what else McAdam had to say about the Red Sox pitching staff, specifically reliever Andrew Bard.
