FOXBORO -- Seven Patriots players were missing from the beginning of Wednesday's practice at Gillette Stadium.

The shells and shorts session was without cornerback Kyle Arrington, safety Patrick Chung, offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer, defensive lineman Mike Wright, and tight end Aaron Hernandez.

Arrington left Sunday's game against the Chargers with apparent head injury after a collision with running back Ryan Mathews. Patrick Chung left Sunday's game and then returned with a cast on his right handwrist.

Sebastian Vollmer has been battling a back injury for a few weeks now and missed practice time last week. Hernandez has a sprained MCL that could keep him out for up to six weeks. Wright was removed from the Patriots' Week 1 win over Miami for concussion-related issues.

Center Dan Koppen and defensive lineman Myron Pryor were both placed on injured reserve on Wednesday as well.
