Bennett, Amendola training together before Patriots offseason program

The Patriots offseason program won't start until April 18th, but a few of their players have already gotten together to ramp up their training.

Tight ends Martellus Bennett and Rob Gronkowski were working out at Jay Glazer's Unbreakable Performance Center earlier this offseason, and Bennett posted an image to Instagram of him "grinding" with another one of his new teammates on Monday.

Bennett and Danny Amendola were teammates in Dallas back in 2008, when both were rookies. As a second-round pick, Bennett was a lock to make the roster and played in all 16 regular-season games. Amendola was cut after training camp but signed on with the Dallas practice squad and remained there for the rest of the season.

Acquired in a trade with the Bears earlier this offseason, it appears as though Bennett has already bonded with a handful of other Patriots -- both in person and online. When quarterback Tom Brady put out an Anchorman-style call to his receivers on Facebook, Bennett responded with a tongue-in-cheek workout video on Instagram.

Since then, Bennett has published a few videos showing very real workouts that he's hoping will have him ready for the upcoming season. Bennett is in the final year of his contract and could capitalize on his arrival to New England, where the coaching staff has proven that it is very much open to an offensive scheme that focuses on the use of two athletic tight ends.
