Brady on bedtime: ‘Trying to get bright-eyed and bushy-tailed'

FOXBORO -- Call it the other Tom Brady Tuck Rule.

The Patriots quarterback was already in the REM stages of his sleep cycle before Barack Obama and Mitt Romney began accusing each other of lying.

"I was asleep very early last night," he said Wednesday. "I read about the debate this morning, but its a big week so I was trying to get some sleep."

All right then, hey, it's a little on the late side maybe. Well, surely, he felt the earthquake that ROCKED the Northeast, right?

"I felt that; shortly after I was in bed," he said. "What was it, about 7:00?"

It was. Wait a second, did Brady say he was in bed shortly after the quake? Ah, probably putting his son, Benjamin, to bed. That makes sense. There's no way a 35-year-old . . .

"7:15 I was asleep. Trying to get bright-eyed and bushy-tailed," he said.

You hear that, Jets? Be very afraid.
