FOXBORO -- The Patriots were without four key offensive players during the start of Wednesday's practice, including their most valuable player.
Tom Brady, Dion Lewis, Malcolm Mitchell and Danny Amendola were all missing from the start of their first on-the-field workout this week.
Brady was spotted inside the Patriots locker room on Wednesday before practice. He was moving fine and seemed to be in good spirits.
Brady last missed practice on the Wednesday leading up to a Week 13 matchup with the Rams when he was dealing with a knee injury. Brady was limited in practice last week with a thigh injury.

It's unclear as to whether or not Lewis or Mitchell are dealing with physical ailments that forced them to miss the start of Wednesday's practice. Mitchell caught a pass at the end of the third quarter against the Jets and immediately flexed his right knee as he got back to his feet. He remained in the game for the remainder of the drive, but he looked to be in some discomfort.
Amendola has not practiced since injuring his ankle against the Rams in Week 13.
