Brady putting down his roots in New England?

I caught a story in the Boston Herald this morning about an interesting meeting set to take place tomorrow night in Brookline.

Laura Raposa writes: "After a few false starts, Pine Manor College reps will finally go before the Brookline Zoning Board of Appeals tomorrow night to seek permission to sell off 5.2 acres to Patriots QB Tom Brady and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, who plan to build a home on the Chestnut Hill property."

Additionally, the story reveals that the new owners hope to build "a 7,465-square-foot main house, a 1,675-square-foot cottage for the help and a 1,342-square-foot yoga studio, also known as a 'barn' " on the property.

OK, so I know what everyone's thinking: Isn't 1,342 square feet just a little small for a yoga barn? Not to sound old-fashioned, but isn't it supposed to be AT LEAST the size of your help cottage?

Seriously, though: It's kind of funny that Brady's starting this process now, isn't it? I mean, seeing how they haven't even been approved to purchase the land yet, it's hard to imagine this house will be ready to live in anytime soon. You figure that by the time they're done with the paper work, hire the builders and then, you know, actually build this gigantic house, help cottage and barn, next season will be well underway. (Just to compare the size, here's a listing for a house in Brookline that's described as just under 8,000 square feet.)

And of course, Brady's only under contract for two more seasons.

By the time he's ready to move, it will be less than two. Would they really go through all this trouble for 18 months of living, or is it just another sign that Brady has no immediate plans to walk away, and wants to remain with the Pats after this contract runs out?
