Edelman took part in warm-up periods and participated in a half-speed seven-on-seven period while working against Patriots defensive backs. Soon thereafter, Edelman broke off from the rest of the team and headed down to a lower field to do some conditioning work.

While on the lower field, Edelman could be seen running at less than full speed along with running backs Donald Brown and DJ Foster, receiver Keshawn Martin and defensive linemen Frank Kearse and Anthony Johnson. Before the practice finished up ,Edelman headed back inside Gillette Stadium.

Edelman's left foot has been operated on twice since he injured it initially in a win over the Giants in Week 10 of the 2015 regular season. He fired his helmet to the turf on Tuesday after participating in one-on-one drills and having to pull himself out of the remainder of the workout.

Patriots insider Tom E. Curran reported that Edelman's tweaked foot was not believed to be serious.
