Hogan, Long both missing from final Patriots practice of the week

FOXBORO -- The Patriots were without both receiver Chris Hogan and defensive end Chris Long for the start of Friday's practice.

Neither player has been on the injury report this week. The only players to be listed as limited during Wednesday and Thursday's practices were receiver Julian Edelman, tight end Martellus Bennett and defensive lineman Alan Branch.

Hogan and Long qualify as two of the most impactful free-agent acquisitions the Patriots made this offseason. Hogan has been an eye-opening deep threat for quarterback Tom Brady, reeling in 19 passes for 391 yards (a 20.6 yards-per-reception average) and two touchdowns. Long has played in 70 percent of the team's defensive snaps, recording two sacks and 20 quarterback hurries, per Pro Football Focus.
