Jones focused on Baltimore during family's big weekend

FOXBORO -- This is a big weekend for Chandler Jones and his family. The Patriots rookie defensive end will play against his older brother Arthur Jones III's Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night. On Saturday, their brother Jon 'Bones' Jones will fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title.

Despite the all that's going on, Chandler is staying focused on the job he has to do at M&T Bank Stadium. He'll watch Jon's fight in his hotel on Saturday night, but he won't watch with Arthur. In fact, the two won't even talk leading up to the game.

"Maybe after the game," he said. "We usually talk every day, but I'm just trying to get ready for this game."

Chandler, 22, and Arthur, 26, played together for two years at Syracuse University and were roommates there. Sunday will be the first time the two play against each other, but because Arthur plays defensive tackle for the Ravens, the two won't see each other on the field after kickoff.

Chandler -- who from time to time has flashed an happy-go-lucky personality in the locker room -- was quick with his answers on Thursday, especially when it came to his relationship with Arthur.

Though he's come up with 10 tackles, two forced fumbles and a sack in his first two professional games, Chandler knows he's still a rookie. The last thing he wanted to do was show that he had taken his attention off of Baltimore, even for a few seconds, even leading up to his family's action-packed weekend.

"Main thing is just focusing on this game," he said. "Trying to get this game plan down and coming up with a win."
