The Patriots announced three more players were inactive for Monday night's game against the Dolphins. Rookie quarterback Ryan Mallett, rookie running back Shane Vereen and linebacker Brandon Spikes will not be suited up tonight for the Patriots.

On Sunday the Patriots announced that Jermaine Cunningham, Sebastian Vollmer, Taylor Price and Ryan Wendell were all inactive.

The biggest news stemming from the announcements is perhaps what was not announced. Albert Haynesworth's name was not mentioned in with the inactives, meaning he will make his Patriots debut tonight.

Spikes missed much of the preseason with an ankle injury, and Vereen missed time this summer with a hamstring injury so those two are no real surprise.

Mallett being designated as inactive is no shock, either. In the past, the Patriots would have been able to keep Mallett on the roster under the league's third quarterback rule. This year, a third quarterback counts against the game day roster.
