FOXBORO - Brandon Meriweather faced the media in Chicago on Monday. And even though he's gone from New England, there were echoes of its influence in Meriweather's words. According to ESPN's Mike C. Wright, Meriweather had this to say when asked about his release by the Patriots, "Tobe honest, thats between meand coach Bill Belichick. I have a lot of respect for that organization. I have a lot of respect for Bill, and the rest of the staff there. Thats behind me."Meriweather was exceedingly diplomatic and said all the right things in his unveiling. To wit (courtesy of Wright's Twitter account)."This is a business, and nothing surprises me anymore. " "I expect to come in and do whatever coach Lovie Smith asks. If he asks me to play special teams, I expect to do that. " "I just think it will be a good fit. The style of defense that they play . . . I love Coach Lovie and the organization."
