Patriots replace Gillette Stadium's turf after only one game

The Patriots are already replacing Gillette Stadium's synthetic turf, which was installed in May.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, players recently have commented about the surface being "especially soft," and the change is due to it "not meeting team standards".

The switch to a new synthetic surface should be made before the Patriots' next home game, which is scheduled for Sept. 24 vs. the Texans. The New England Revolution, who share the stadium, don't play at home until Sept. 23.
