Jonathan Cooper, the guard acquired in the Chandler Jones trade, has been cut by the Patriots, CSN Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran confirmed.

The news was first reported by ESPN's Field Yates.

Cooper, the seventh overall pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2013, didn't play in the Patriots first four games.

In the Jones deal, the Patriots acquired Cooper and second-round pick they then used in a trade to draft guard Joe Thuney and wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.
