The Patriots have signed safety Ross Ventrone from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Ventrone, 24, first signed with New England as a rookie free agent after the 2010 Draft. He has not appeared in a regular-season NFL game. Joining the Patriots for training camp prior to this season, he was released on August 10 and re-signed August 28.
In a subsequent transaction, linebacker A.J. Edds, a former fourth-round pick by Miami, has been signed to the practice squad. Edds was released by the Patriots earlier this week.
