The Patriots lost a defensive end on the same day they gained one, as Jabaal Sheard has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Colts. This comes shortly after the Pats acquired Kony Ealy in a trade with the Panthers.

The Sheard signing, reported by ESPN’s Field Yates and Adam Schefter, ends his tenure in New England after two seasons. The Patriots signed Sheard in 2015 after he had spent the first four seasons of his career in Cleveland. The Browns drafted Sheard 37th overall in 2011.

Sheard’s best season with the Pats came in 2015, with him registering eight sacks, the most since his rookie year.
