Kellen Winslow Jr. may -- or may not -- be a Patriot at this monent.
But it certainly seems as if the wheels are in motion to bring him to New England.
Two ESPN staffers have conflicting reports on the veteran tight end. James Walker has Tweeted that he's filed a story saying the Pats have signed Winslow as a replacement for the injured Aaron Hernandez. But also on Twitter, Adam Schefter reports that Winslow "is visiting today" with the Patriots.
In addition, NBC's Pro Football Talk quotes a league source as saying Winslow is visiting the Patriots, and the NFL Network's Michael Lombardi also says Winslow is coming to New England. None except Walker say Winslow has actually signed.
Lombardi reported that Winslow's knee is a "huge concern", and sources told CSNNE.com that the tight end failed his physical with New England when he was here several weeks ago.
Sources say Hernandez suffered a low ankle sprain Sunday against the Cardinals and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.
