FOXBORO - Wes Welker met with media Tuesday for the first time since injuring his neck against the Lions. He didn't tell anyone anything they didn't already know. Welker was injured when he made a tackle following a Tom Brady interception. Asked what happened on the play, Welker answered, "Guy made a good play on the ball and I needed to make the tackle so I went in there and made the tackle and got him down."Clearly.Whathappened tohis neck? Did he lose feeling? Did he suffer a stinger? "I don't really recall," Welker claimed. "I just remember making sure everything was all right and the doctors checking me out and trying to get ready for the next game."Since he found it impossible to remember what happened, I asked Welker if he suffered memory loss or was knocked out. He obviously didn't. He was just being unnecessarily obtuse about the injury. "You all put me in some bad positions," he answered. Tom E. Curran can be reached at tcurran@comcastsportsnet.com.
