New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead has advanced to the Elite Eight in the Madden '12 Cover Vote bracket.

EA Sports has teamed up with ESPN to allow fans to vote for their favorite player to appear on next year's video game cover. The athletes began in a typical 32-player bracket and are matched up against a new opponent each week. The athlete that receives the most votes advances.

Woodhead faced Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson in the first round and New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks in the second, defeating both by considerable margins.

The 26-year-old is up against his toughest opponent yet this week. Woodhead will have to best Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers in order to advance to the Final Four.

You can vote at ESPN.com until April 11. The cover winner will be revealed on ESPN on April 25.
