New England Revolution captain Shalrie Joseph has trained all week with his club, but he won't be available for Saturday's match against D.C. United at Gillette Stadium.
Joseph was told by Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday, that upon further review of his tackle on FC Dallas midfielder Ricardo Villar last Thurday, he would be suspended for one game.
The Revs fell to FC Dallas 1-0 and enter Saturday's match with a 2-3 record against a D.C. United team that has a 1-2-2 record.
Joseph is just one of two Revolution players who has played in every minute of New England's five regular-season games in 2012. The other player is goalkeeper Matt Reis.
With Joseph out, the Revolution will need Reis to be at the top of his game, even though D.C. United has been shut out in three of its first five games this season.
D.C. United has scored five goals on the year, and four of those came in a 4-1 win over FC Dallas two weeks ago. But last year's league MVP -- Dwayne De Rosario -- has yet to score in five games, after finishing last season with 16 goals and 12 assists.
--New England has listed Reis (knee), Kevin Alston (hamstring), and Clyde Simms (calf) as probable, while Benny Feilhaber (peroneal strain) is listed as questionable. Zak Boggs (ankle), Flo Lechner (metatarsal fracture), Sainey Nyassi (hamstring), and Jeremiah White (headache) have been ruled out.
