FOXBOROThe New England Revolution will try to not let themselves get wrapped up in another seemingly endless winless skid on Saturday night as they take on the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium.

The Revs already suffered through a nine-game winless skid not too long ago, when they went two months without a victory. Heading into Saturdays match, theyre winless in their last three matches, after coming off a 3-2 loss to Chivas USA at Gillette Stadium last Saturday.

And it wont be easy this Saturday in Columbus, as the Crew are the best team in the Eastern Conference with 34 points. Thats 13 more points than the seventh-place Revolution.

The Crew are real solid, said Revolution coach Steve Nicol. Theyve got a wee bit of everything. Theyve got a wee bit of pace. Theyve certainly got strength, plenty of strength. Theyre a big team. They dont make an awful lot of mistakes, and if you do make them, then theyve got players capable of punishing you. So we have to be really solid and make sure we dont give too much away.

New England will be without forward Rajko Lekic on Saturday night. Lekic is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a fractured big toe on his right foot. Franco Coria (MCL) and Kheli Dube (whiplash) will also miss Saturdays game for the Revs.

The good thing for the Revolution, 16-year-old Diego Fagundez will most likely be there to give them a similar spark that he gave last weekend. And perhaps hes the one thing preventing New England from falling into another nine-game winless skid.
