FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution continues to rack up the hardware.

One week after Matt Reis earned the MLS Save of the Week, forward Saer Sene was awarded the MLS Goal of the Week.

Senes knuckling net-bender edged out Seattle's Osvaldo Alonso. Sene captured 27 percent of fan voting, narrowly holding off Alonso, who garnered 26 percent.

Sene's goal came in the 12th minute of Sunday's 2-1 loss at Philadelphia. After taking a pass from Kelyn Rowe, Sene launched his left-footed twister from 28 yards out and beat Union keeper Zac MacMath under the crossbar.

Senes goal of the week nod is his first and the Revolutions first of the 2012 season. Its also the clubs first weekly goal honor since Week 2 of the 2010 season when former Rev Kenny Mansally won for his strike against D.C. United on April 3.
