Niners praise Moss as a great teammate

FOXBORO -- Randy Moss returns to New England on Sunday night not quite the impact player he once was.

Moss has 21 catches for 326 yards in 13 games during his first season with the San Francisco 49ers. His last dominant season as a wide receiver was with the Patriots in 2009-10. After that, he was traded to Minnesota, then went to Tennessee, and now he finds himself back on a Super Bowl contender.

In a conference call on Wednesday, the 49ers praised the veteran Moss, who's career has been surrounded by off-the-field controversy.

"He's a good teammate," said linebacker Aldon Smith. "He's a guy I looked up to as a kid growing up, and being able to be in the locker room and sit next to him is cool. It's a dream come true."

"He's done a nice job," said 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh. "He's been a contributor, he's produced, and he's been a great teammate."
