O'Neal (wrist) could miss two weeks after cortisone shot

Surprise!

Jermaine O'Neal will miss more time.

O'Neal will get a cortisone shot in his left wrist that will sideline him for up to 14 days, according to the Boston Herald.

Hes going to need surgery at some point, said Ainge to the Herald. But hell play with it for now. He needed the surgery last season but wanted to play. Now, though, they think hell be ready to play in another 10 or 14 days.

Why didn't O'Neal get the surgery over the offseason? Who knows.

Either way, Celtics coach Doc Rivers is moving in a different direction. He started Brandon Bass at power forward last night, sliding Kevin Garnett to power forward, but says he was thinking about making that move weeks ago before O'Neal went down.

It looks like an already thin Celtics frontcourt just got thinner.
