FOXBORO -- The Patriots were without two of their front-seven starters at Wednesday's practice.

Both Dont'a Hightower and Malcom Brown were missing from the start of the fully-padded session after suffering injuries against the Falcons last weekend. Eric Rowe and Danny Amendola were also missing from the practice.

Brown injured his ankle on the first play of the second half when he was hit low by guard Wes Schweltzer. He stayed in for one more snap, but then headed back to the sidelines and remained there for the remainder of the game.

Hightower was injured with about three minutes left in the win over Atlanta. Coming from his spot as an off-the-line outside linebacker, he attempted to wrap up Devonta Freeman as Freeman cut back against the grain. Hightower's right arm was wrenched back and remained on the turf for a moment. Like Brown, Hightower tried to play through his ailment, but after one snap, he came out of the game.

Rowe is still dealing with a lingering groin injury. He has not played or practiced since Week 4. Amendola, meanwhile, was spotted in the Patriots locker room on Monday and indicated that he was feeling good.

The Patriots will release a full injury report, detailing player participation, later in the day on Wednesday.
