The Giants announced Friday that they have interviewed Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels for their head coaching vacancy.
The news should come as no surprise, as both McDaniels and Patricia have garnered heavy interest for teams with coaching vacancies, with McDaniels in particular considered to be a top option for teams.
Patricia, who has been with the Patriots since 2004, served as an offensive assistant, assistant offensive line coach, linebackers coach and safeties coach before taking over as defensive coordinator in 2012. The Lions are also believed to be very interest in him.
McDaniels is in his second stint as Pats offensive coordinator. He was New England's OC from 2006-08 before leaving to become head coach of the Denver Broncos. He returned as OC in 2012.
