James Conner may miss Patriots-Steelers matchup with ankle injury

The Steelers continuing to roll without Le'Veon Bell is one of the biggest stories of the NFL season.

Hometown hero James Conner stepped up for Pittsburgh from Day 1 and has excelled in Bell's former role. He's a large part the Steelers are in playoff contention.

However, they may need to make do without him when New England comes to town in Week 15.

Conner injured his ankle in last week's game against the Chargers, and has been ruled out for this week's game against the Raiders. Now it appears there's a chance that Conner misses next week as well.

A late season Patriots-Steelers matchup usually has playoff implications, and this season is no different. The Ravens are hot on Pittsburgh's tale for the AFC North crown, and the Patriots likely need to win out in order to have a chance at home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

If Conner can't go, it's a boon for the Steelers and a big break for the Pats, who will have their hands full as is with Antonio Brown and the rest of the Steelers' receiving corps.
