A Jamie Collins-Patriots reunion?

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports the Pats have "had internal discussions" about attempting to reacquire Collins from the Browns (subscription required), whom they dealt to Cleveland at the trade deadline in 2016 for a third-round draft choice.

This year's trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m. EDT and the Pats -- who are said to be actively seeking help, though the names that have surfaced are on the offensive side of the ball -- may be looking to bolster the front seven on defense.

Collins, 29, was a Pats' second-round pick in 2013 and played a key role in the 2014 Super Bowl championship. His trade sparked plenty of controversy hereabouts, but there's been other talk of his coming back recently. Just three weeks ago, ESPN's Bill Barnwell said that Collins-for-a-2019-seventh-round-pick was a "sensisble" midseason trade.
