Tom Brady again commits to playing into mid-40s despite retirement rumors

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady killed the suspense.

Brady discussed his career during an interview with Jim Gray at the Miliken Institute Global Conference on Monday. Amid rumors he was mulling retirement, he said he intends to play in 2018. He again confirmed he wants to play into his mid-40s.

The quarterback also broached the Super Bowl loss, which concluded an otherwise successful season.

"Last year sucked," Brady said.

Brady came up short of winning his sixth Super Bowl, as he fumbled the ball in the final minutes of the Super Bowl and was unable to lead a comeback. A wild offseason ensued when Brady's relationship with Bill Belichick went under the microscope, especially after Brady skipped the team's voluntary offseason program for the first time in almost a decade.

Perhaps that's why Gray asked: Are you happy?

"I have my moments," he said.
