Rangers hand Sox third straight loss, win 6-3

BOSTON -- The Red Sox losing streak was stretched to three games Wednesday night, but there was some good news hidden in their 6-3 defeat to the Texas Rangers: they won't have to worry about getting Mike Napoli out again until July.
Perhaps by then, the Red Sox will have a better idea. For now, however, Napoli seems to have their number. A night after he cranked two homers in an 18-3 rout, Napoli drove in four of the Rangers' six runs with a two-run homer off starter Josh Beckett in the fourth and a bases-loaded two-run double off reliever Franklin Morales in the eighth that broke a two-run game wide open.
Beckett gave the Red Sox a quality start, pitching seven innings and allowing three runs. He allowed seven hits, walked just one and fanned seven.
The Red Sox took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second when David Ortiz doubled and Kevin Youkilis, who fanned four times the night before, belted his first homer of the season and first since last August.
But the Sox never mustered much offense after the second off Texas starter Derek Holland the Rangers bullpen. Boston had just three hits following Youkilis's homer.
After scoring 31 runs in the first three games of the homestand, the Sox have scored just five in the last three games.
