David Price says his issue is with media, not Red Sox fans

A couple of quick updates on David Price: He’s healthy and he doesn’t hate Red Sox fans.

That was the takeaway from this piece in The Tennessean about the Red Sox pitcher, who recently concluded the second season of a seven-year deal with Boston.

Price, who dealt with an elbow issue throughout the season and finished the campaign in the bullpen, said he is “100 percent healthy now.” He also said that his issues with playing in Boston are because of the media, not because of fans.

“That was all media,” Price said of his rocky relationships. “I never said anything about the fans.”

Price infamously lit up Dennis Eckersley on the team plane over the summer, mocking the NESN broadcaster and Hall of Famer for occasionally being critical of players.

Asked whether he could be happy in Boston, Price said he could.

“We have a good team and I think we’ll win,” Price said. “That’s all that matters.”
