Devers returns from DL, back at 3B vs. Blue Jays

Rafael Devers is off the 10-day disabled list and in the Red Sox starting lineup at third base and batting eighth tonight in the second game of a three-game series in Toronto against the Blue Jays.

Devers, 21, hasn't played since July 28 because of a left hamstring injury. He was also on the 10-day DL July 11-20 with a shoulder injury. He's hitting .245 with 15 homers and 52 RBI. He homered and drove in two runs in a rehab appearance at Single-A Lowell on Monday.

To make room for Devers, infielder Tony Renda, who scored the winning run in the 10th inning Sunday night as a pinch-runner against the Yankees in his Red Sox debut, was optioned back to Triple-A Pawtucket.

The full Red Sox lineup Wednesday night:

Mookie Betts, RF
Andrew Benintendi, LF
Mitch Moreland, 1B
J.D. Martinez, DH
Xander Bogaerts, SS
Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
Eduardo Núñez, 2B
Rafael Devers, 3B
